The challenge
Legal services are usually sold through phone calls and paperwork. LitUp wanted the opposite: a modern platform where clients browse services, understand pricing and start an engagement online — which meant a robust backend the React front end could trust completely.
The approach
Model the domain first
Services, engagements and client accounts were modelled in PostgreSQL before any endpoint was written, so the API grew from the data — not the other way around.
A clean API contract
The Laravel REST API was designed together with the front-end developer, with consistent resources and validation so the React app never had to guess.
Ship and iterate
The platform launched with the core service catalogue and grew feature by feature based on how real clients actually used it.
